If I could bring myself to do 20mm it would seem to offer an ideal solution.

The armies I have in mind are not large (and thus not too burdensome to paint), but I'm concerned that larger figures would impact on base sizes and thus on the need for a relatively larger playing surface.

But like you, I'm in no rush.doctorphalanxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11805618584243510174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060774784000500705.post-87751665888010094612016-05-14T12:57:10.652+00:002016-05-14T12:57:10.652+00:00If you are in Europe (the mention of Customs &...If you are in Europe (the mention of Customs & Excise suggests UK,,?) then look no further than Andy at OGUK for Old Glory.

Also in 20mm there's the Jacklex range, which is my favourite of the lot.DChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01966327646670642381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060774784000500705.post-5603737195424097192016-05-14T09:10:28.833+00:002016-05-14T09:10:28.833+00:00Thanks for covering this, the Mexican Revolution h...Thanks for covering this, the Mexican Revolution has been on my wargaming wishlist for years, but was never quite sure how I'd do itKieran Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04191062526187270925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060774784000500705.post-28341089989457854072016-05-14T08:23:16.704+00:002016-05-14T08:23:16.704+00:00The Pulp figures would also be great for gunfight ...The Pulp figures would also be great for gunfight games.Jim Jackamanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00418123950779160903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060774784000500705.post-276447102091451622016-05-14T08:20:29.200+00:002016-05-14T08:20:29.200+00:00Thanks Neil...I may well do just that. Thanks Neil...I may well do just that.Jim Jackamanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00418123950779160903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060774784000500705.post-14528267115933697092016-05-14T08:18:39.098+00:002016-05-14T08:18:39.098+00:00This comment has been removed by the author.Jim Jackamanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00418123950779160903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060774784000500705.post-73440510117617523622016-05-14T08:17:11.008+00:002016-05-14T08:17:11.008+00:00Yes the Brigade figures are nice but out of stock ...Yes the Brigade figures are nice but out of stock for months. Good for skirmish games but limited for bigger battles. Gringo 40's have some excellent figures too, so maybe gunfight style skirmish would be a way forward?Jim Jackamanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00418123950779160903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3060774784000500705.post-88691557947490736632016-05-13T23:01:09.118+00:002016-05-13T23:01:09.118+00:00Clocked the rather nice looking brigade games stuf...Clocked the rather nice looking brigade games stuff on northstar... The latter have some very useful figures buried in various ranges. The Spanish American war has some that just need a paint conversion, with lots of Mexican irregulars in the 2x Mexican ranges. Peter Pig has heads, Inc sombreros! The Wild West & WW1 have useful bits; Mexican bandits, French & Belgian mgs.
French 75s work as Schneider Canet.
If you want particular recommendations let me know.
NeilNeil Pattersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13565511145163341782noreply@blogger.com
