I've been looking forward to the Xmas Special, as it's always excellent value and full of interesting, varied articles. This issue is no exception and includes articles for Dux Brittaniarium, Charlie Don't Surf and Through the Mud and Blood, all of which are on my 'to do' list of potential projects. There are also a couple of decent scenarios for Bag The Hun 2, which I can actually use for a project that exists!
Good stuff!
Spooky! Just read on Roundwoods World this Xmas special was due out and before I had chance to go and checkout the Lardy site this entry popped up.
ReplyDeleteOn another note I've been following with interest your 1/300th WW2 projects. Do you base/undercoat and then paint the models once on the flight stand, as the work in progress photos seem to suggest?
Yes, I clean up the castings then glue them to the stands before undercoating the whole lot with Halfords or Humbrol acrylic spray paint.
ReplyDeleteIt gives you something to hold on to when you paint them and makes them sturdy enough for gaming.
For storage, I stick blu tack underneath the stands and keep them in a Really Useful Box.
Easy.
Thanks for the reply. I have a few late war aircraft to paint, and was trying to figure out the best way to steady them when painting. I have not painted any 1/300th aircraft for a very long time and the last time a did I painted one side then the other before basing. So I think I will base them first this time round.
ReplyDeleteCDS for me the best Lardie rules set, don't hesitate to jump into it
