I've pushed my 1/2400th scale Anglo-French war ironclads to one side over the last week or so but am now going to attempt to get the whole French fleet painted up over the next few days. I have worked out what I think are a good combination of ten basic paint shades including base and highlight layers, together with a couple of ink washes, so that I can keep the process down to a manageable and fast production line.
I have quite a lot of ships to paint in the French fleet alone, last count being eighteen, not counting the extra ones I seem to keep adding on top. The plan is to get these done in no less than a week, so that I can then start on the Royal Navy, which has even more. In the margins I will also be tinkering with the Flashpoint Alto Cenepa project, just so that I can retain a grip on my sanity!

Good luck with that! I like the idea of working out the basic shades first. I'm never that organised.
