I've finished work for the summer and so have a few weeks of holiday time free to play a solo naval mini-campaign using my Chilean and Argentinian pre-dreadnought 1/2400th scale squadrons. The premise is a naval incident of some description in the Beagle Channel between patrolling Chilean and Argentinian cruisers c1900, which escalates to a series of small naval engagements before common sense and the might of the Royal Naval bring both sides to their political senses.
I'll use this as an excuse to play around with two sets of rules, the first being A+A Game Engineering's Tsushima and the second Long Face Games Broadside and Salvo, the latter being for fast play fleet actions but potentially adaptable to smaller-scale, squadron sized games. I'll do some preliminary political campaign fluff to set the scene before I get going, with a series of three or four linked scenarios being the extent of the campaign plan. I'm really looking forward to it!
Sounds good. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
