ARVN Progress

Last night I glued together the six M113's that I cleaned up the other day. For the Recce Squadron I've added the M60 gunners to the ACAV's to make it easier to identify the unit and to reflect the fact that I've classed them as IFV's rather than transport APC's.

The other ACAV's in the Mechanised Squadrons have just the .50cal mounting and really should count as M113's in points terms, so I may do a few adjustments to the battlegroup list to reflect this. I've got one squadron of four M113's and an M125 to finish off then I'm done with the preparation stage (at last!) . I'm planning to get them done today if I can.

As it's taken longer than expected to get this lot cleaned up my deadline of 18th January for completion of the ARVN project is looking a little unrealistic to say the least. As a result, I'm going to give myself until the end of the month to finish the whole thing. This will still leave me a couple of weeks until half term in February in which I can squeeze in a small project, probably the Norewegians if I'm not fed up with painting 10mm figures by then.

It's also my birthday on the 18th and I've been given £100 to spend on shiny new toys by the wife. I've noticed that Peter Pig are increasing their pack prices by 10p on the 15th so I might get some more AK47 bits and bobs before the deadline, perhaps one of the new AK47 army packs that they've just added to the website, or some more figures and vehicles for Vietnam. I might also get something from Pendraken, Pithead or Magister Militum, possibly some extras for my Korean War UN battlegroup or some bits and bobs for the Noggies?

I'll give it some thought...
