Hacked Off

Arse.

It's one of those days when you wonder why you got involved in this ridiculous hobby in the first place and didn't take up some equally pointless leisure activity such as morris dancing instead.

Without going into the convoluted details, I've raised some well founded issues at the club and been duly shot down for my efforts. As I've done most of the groundwork for the project concerned and have put a lot of effort into getting it up and running and sorting things out, I'm a bit hacked off that I now seem to be the metaphorical spanner in the works.

It's not the first time but it will definately be the last as far as I'm concerned.

I'm off to get my bells and silly hat out for a spot of strip the willow...

  1. Jim,
you have my sympathy. I read some of the e-mail replys from the club with rather raised eyebrows considering the effort you've put into get this project of the ground. I have to say I have noticed the club sometimes comes across as a little to disorganised to pull these things of. It always seems someone drops the ball on these things and lets everyone down. If you want another hobby (and I rather hope you don't as I enjoy our games very much) can I suggest football, 90mins of screaming your head off on a saturday afternoon can be very good at reliving stress (and it's good father son bonding time too). Anyway as the saying goes don't let the bastards grind you down.

    Cheers Jon

  2. Don't despair there, at least we are in a hobby that has so many different aspects: planning/research/collecting/painting/terrain making/modelling/scratch-building, etc, etc, all without even needing to take part in the gaming itself!
Let the club cool it's heels for a while, and then you can make a triumphant return at a later date.... :-).
