Hannover CLIIIa

I've been thinking about building a new plane for the WW1 aerial game on the 20th, with the most likely option being a 1/72nd scale Airfix Hannover CLIIIa. I have two or three of these kits stashed away but will go for the latest re-issue as the decals are much better than the old 1980's versions.

The thing that's putting me off is the lozenge camouflage. I have some Altmark decals for upper and lower wing 5 lozenge pattern fabric and I'm quite happy with the idea of using it, assuming it doesn't fragment into tiny pieces when I stick it in the water.

The fuselage lozenge is an entirely different matter though, so I'm going for a compromise and will paint it in a simple two or three tone pattern. I've found a profile which shows something similar (see above) although I have my doubts about it's accuracy. In the end, it's only for gaming so I reckon I can get away with it!
