Colours 2010

I got the green light for a day trip to Colours from the Ministry of the Interior yesterday. These things are always subject to ministerial cancellation at the last minute, but it's so close that I doubt I can do anything too contraversial to justify 'termination with extreme prejudice'.

I'm probably going to go tomorrow rather than Sunday as originally planned, taking both of the boys with me as the price that has to be paid for a wargame related day out. If I can keep them interested for a couple of hours I'll be able to do some light purchasing (nothing too drastic) plus get a game in or two.

I'm after some extras for the pirates, so will be checking out Dave Thomas' stand as he has loads of loose bagged Foundry figures for sale, according to his post on TMP. I'll also try to get hold of some resin terrain bits and bobs such as rowing boats, stockades, or whatever else might be handy. Other than that, I'll see what bargains I can pick up from the Bring and Buy or from traders with special deals.

It's my first show of the year, so I'm looking forward to it. I will, of course, be taking the camera with me to snap some photos of the games, so will report back on the best of the bunch for you here.

  1. If you spot a "typical bearded wargamer" in a blue and yellow Gloucester Gladiators cricket shirt that'll be me! :-)

  2. I'll keep a look out.

Likewise, if you spot another typically bearded bloke in shorts with two grumpy sprogs in tow, it's your's truly.

    See you there :O)

  3. Well done getting the weekend pass! haven't been to colours in a few years I remember it being a good show, hoping to get to warfare this year though.
