The Workbench

I thought I'd show you the new three directional lighting set up that I have installed above the eponymous workbench, thanks to those nice people at IKEA.

As you can see, I already had two spotlights clamped onto the ends of the shelf above the workbench but have just added another central one to the lighting rig. It adds a bit of extra visibility in the stygian gloom of the garage, which should be handy once the days start to get shorter.

Not much I can do about the sub-arctic icy wind that blows around my feet though, but then I'm used to that by now. In an ideal world I'd convert the garage into a wargames room but this is the realm of fantasy, given the massive mountain of stuff that currently occupies the space.

Those of you paying attention will also have glimpsed one corner of the leadpile, balanced precariously above the workbench in a defiance of the laws of gravity and common sense. I would show you some of the rest of this metal monolith but it's on a need to know basis and you're probably better off in the dark.

The French army surplus 1980's standard issue helmet on the coat rack by the door is a recent acquistion, which my wife was kind enough to buy for me at a continental carboot, as she 'thought I might like it'.

Nice.

If a bit wierd?

  1. Wow, I wish I had a set up like that ! I don't think I actually have the space required.

The big question though is... how do you keep it so tidy !?!

BTW, I like your blog. I'll be visiting again. Thanks for sharing,
