Back Again



We've just got back from Denmark after a very enjoyable trip. If we could have stayed a bit longer I think we would have done but duty calls, so it's time to get back to work. I'll be sifting through the photos for a bit of a retrospective tomorrow but, in the meantime, here's one to get you scratching your head. I'm sure it made sense to someone at some point but I'm not sure it would actually be a top idea?

    Now that is a curious device, a horse drawn turret? I suppose it could be towed to a defensive position and abandoned!

    Hi
    Its mobile device used on fortifications. You can see these devices all over europe. Very popular in fortifications in the 1880'es.

    A mobile fortified position? Nice and bulletproof, but not much fun to be in when the first shells start landing around it.

    My nine year old had a bit of a squeeze getting in.

    I hate to think what it would be like with shrapnel, shell fragments and bullets bouncing off the outside!
