Lorient U-Boat Bunker Visit Photos

I promised to post some photos of my visit to the U-Boat bunkers in Lorient over the holidays, so here they are including some mildly dis-interested children and a slightly less dis-interested spouse. It really is an impressive site to visit and well worth it if you are in the South of Brittany on holiday.

Incidentally, the wreck is a WW1 German light cruiser which took an active role in the Battle of Jutland, was ceded to the French as reparations under the terms of the Versailles Treaty, incorporated into the French Navy, then was subsequently sunk by the Germans as an anti-torpedo block ship.
