Nautical Xmas Present

A bit early I know but the wife has bought me a new sea cloth from Tiny Wargames for use with my 1/600th scale WW2 coastal warfare, 1/3000th scale WW2  and 1/2400th scale Pre-Dreadnoughts, Ironclads and Napoleonics. I've been making do with various bedsheets, curtains, table cloths and upside down hex cloths up until now but have put off buying a proper bit of nautical scenery due to the cost factor. There is a 15% discount offer at the moment which brought the total cost down to a little bit over fifty quid, so still quite pricey but worth it in the long run.

I've chosen a Dark Sea cloth as it will be ideal for nocturnal operations with my 1/600th scale coastal flotillas which are based in a very similar shade of North Sea grey-blue. I may also rebase my 1/3000th scale French WW2 fleet to match this as I've never really been happy with the green-blue shade and base texturing that I applied when I painted them. If all goes according to plan, I'll also base the rest of my projects accordingly so that I can squeeze maximum mileage out of the one terrain cloth, even using it for aerial games that don't need a hex overlay. Splendid!
