I am back at work now but have gone part time after more than twenty five years non-stop, so have Mondays and Tuesdays off, apart from today when I had to go in. This means, in theory at least, that I'll have less pocket money but more time for wargaming projects, give or take the inevitable list of things to do around the house.
I have some of these things to be done tomorrow but I'm also hoping to start another 1/2400th scale scratch build, this time the casemate ironclad USS Dunderberg or the Rochambeau, as she was named under French ownership. The Rochambeau only lasted from 1867 to 1872 but during that time was a significant and unusual element of the French ironclad fleet:

This will be a lot more complicated than my previous effort, the twin turret monitor USS Onondaga, as I will have to work out how to replicate the unusual hull profile and deck plan, not to mention the masts and sails. I'm also going to have to find a way to model the angles on the casemate and the numerous recessed gun ports. I think a few corners will quite literally have to be cut?

I hope your version of the Dundersberg has a better fate than the 1/1200 one I scratch built years ago. Our dog saw the new model and thought it'd make an excellent chew toy.
