Fighters over the Forest?

Or Jets over the Jungle? Or Missiles In the Mist? I did a quick bit of DTP using MS Paint to mock up a cover of a Wings at War variant for the Alto Cenepa War. This is just an exercise in wishful thinking but I do have some ideas for converting the core system in Flames above the Falklands into something that might work? The basic game objectives are very similar once you remove the naval aspect of the situation, so it wouldn't be a massive leap to move the action to the rainforests of Peru and Ecuador. I'll give it some more thought and possibly have a go?

  1. I have the Falklands and the Vietnam games of Wings of War. Do the aircraft stats for one game carry over to the other?

  2. You had me all excited then for a second... be interested to see what you come up with.

What have you found in terms of English language sources for the conflict?

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  3. I wouldn't have thought so, given the technological gap. I'd need to work out the relative performance of the different aircraft based on the Falklands stats where there are some common types e.g. Mirage 3, Canberra, Hercules.

  4. There's not much out there except for the old Acig article and Wikipedia, which isn't that bad.

  5. Those are the sources I'm working off too- added to the general info in 'South American Fighters' and 'South American Mirages'.

    Cheers,

    Pete.

  6. I'll have to track those down. I have a couple of magazine articles on the Mirage variants somewhere too. I'll have to dig them out (wherever they are?)
