I've finished the Mi-24 Hinds and Mi-17 Hips for the AEF this afternoon, adding the Lazerline Designs rotor discs and tail rotors to complete the job. I'm in two minds about these, as they definitely make them look more like flying machines but at the expense of hiding all the paintwork underneath an over thick plastic disc. Anyway, they are now done and dusted so that I can get back to the Salvadorian aircraft for the Football War.
I've now removed the plastic rotor discs as I really didn't like them and a couple had frosted over with superglue. Aaarggh😠
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that they didn't work out - I think they look excellent in these photos. That's a real shame some frosted from the glue.
DeleteI have a selection of similar rotor blade discs for some 15mm helicopters which I've not got round to building yet.
I've used them for 1/300th stuff and like them. Used PVA on mine as I figured that the slight 'spring' it has might stop them coming off if I knocked them.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Pete.
I probably should have used PVA too. One of the hips was wrecked but I've salvaged the rest.
