Magasin de Presse

Unfortunately, I'm in France for the weekend on an unexpected visit to the relatives, following the sudden and tragic death of my brother in law from a heart attack. Needless to say, this is a very sad time and I have had little interest in any hobby related things. I did have a browse in the local newsagents today, after cleaning the car for the funeral, and picked up the latest edition of Batailles & Blindes, one of my habitual reads when I'm over here in happier circumstances. It really is an excellent magazine, with fantastic colour artwork, numerous photos and interesting articles, albeit in French.

This edition is particularly good, with an article on Operation Cobra and another on Operation Blackcock in January 1945. The latter has piqued my interest in some late war winter whitewash camouflaged British tanks for What a Tanker!, either the Cromwells of 1st RTR, 7th Armoured Division, or the Shermans of the 8th Armoured Brigade. If and when I eventually finish the US tanks, this may well be on the list of things to do, along with my long term 15mm plans for Holland in late '44 to early '45 using Chain of Command.

  1. I'm sorry for your loss.

The magazine looks good. Unusual to see British tanks in white.
