A new book for reading over the holidays, which are a couple of weeks away, give or take. I'm probably going to be assembling some 1/600th scale ACW models over the summer, as it's one of the top things on my 'to do' list for this year, so I thought I'd get stuck in to some appropriate background reading.
Do please post a review when you've read it. I'm interested to know if there's much on the high seas as riverine warfare doesn't quite do it for me so I've stayed away from the ACW. Often there's a lot of small scale naval action that gets left out of the history books - I've got a super little book on the naval side of the Texan War of Independence - most books only talk about the Alamo, San Jacinto and maybe Goliad so it was a surprise to see how much happened at sea.
ReplyDeleteYes I will. I'm also more interested in the naval rather than the riverine aspect, as it ties in with my existing focus on 1/2400th scale ocean going ironclads.
