Kiss Me Hardy

I'm signed up for a game of Kiss Me Hardy at the club tomorrow night, which is great as I've only played the rules once, many years ago but would like to use them for my 1/2400th scale Napoleonic project. The game is a bit unusual in that it's set in the Baltic with the Swedes against the Russians, so there will be galley frigates, gunboats and all sorts of other Scandinavian oddities floating about. I really like the sound of this, as the Baltic is one of my areas of interest for naval wargaming, so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

  1. Naval Wars in the Baltic (by Anderson) one of my most cherished books - lots of great battles and the added variety of constrained manoeuvre (shallows, rocks, coastline, etc.) and inshore fleets of galleys. What's not to love. The final big plus is you don't have the Royal Navy in there much as in this period games where they lose always feel wrong - they didn't lose a single ship of the line to enemy action throughout the entire Napoleonic Wars.
I don't know these rules so very interested to hear how you think they play.

  5. KMH is a great rule set, fast and easy, but still has the feel of the time and limitations of wind propulsion.
