Last of the Ironclads

I'm currently working may through the first half of a commission painting job, with about thirty 1/2400th scale Tumbling Dice ACW river ironclads to paint and base up over the weekend. However, I'm also hoping to complete the last five 1/2400th scale Royal Navy broadside ironclads for my Victorian naval project as I go along, so that I can sue them for a game at the club sometime toward the end of the month. These include the four cut down and converted ships, HMS Caledonia, HMS Ocean, HMS Royal Oak and HMS Prince Consort, together with HMS Black Prince. I also have HMS Monarch on the stocks but have left her out as my storage box will be full. I'll post some progress updates as I go along, assuming I make any progress that is?  :O)

  1. Seems a bit rough that after painting them you have to sue them for a game... ;o)

  2. I’ve just started painting some of the TD ironclad era ships and very impressed with the sculpts. I hope mine turn out as well as yours. Pity about leaving the Monarch out of the mix, she’s a more interesting design and saw action at Alexandria.

  3. I'll get round to her at some point. I've also got a few smaller ships that I can probably squeeze in. They're fun to paint if a bit fiddly. I'd love to see what you've been up to with your TD ironclads. Any idea which rules you'll be using?
