Narrow Seas

I have been thinking of reviving my 1/600th scale coastal warfare project at some point this year, which has been overshadowed by the arrival of Cruel Seas and subsequently side lined. I was using David Manley's fast play Schnellrule for Schnellboot for this and had some really enjoyable games but he's now published a new set of fast play rules incorporating many of the core mechanisms, aptly titled Narrow Seas. I've downloaded a copy from Wargame Vault and I like the look of them, so it's yet another project to add to the list for later this year, albeit one that's already 75% complete.

I have a coastal convoy of merchant ships, some VP-Boats, flak R-Boats and some destroyers, minesweepers and trawlers to paint up, but they're all based and undercoated, so it's a long weekend job at the most. I'm also thinking of rebasing my existing models or possibly just repainting the sea shade to match my blue sea cloth rather than the grey one that I have been using. I would also like to add some more coastal terrain to my existing shoreline sections but perhaps with a different theme, as I like the idea of some Norwegian coastal forces action!
