Fast Attack Afrika

One thing I've been thinking of adding to the list of projects next year is an 'Imagi-nations' modern fast attack naval thing, using my collection of 1/700 scale models from Skytrex, PT Dockyard and various plastic model kits. I had thought of setting the scene in a South American conflict between two countries not unlike Peru and Ecuador or Chile, but I'm now veering more toward an African AK47 inspired idea.

I have some Soviet Cold War era FAC's and a variety of Israeli ones, so I'm thinking about an ersatz clash between a country a bit like South Africa and another based on Mozambique or Tanzania, with the kit distributed accordingly. It's just an idea at the moment but it would tie in nicely with my Steamer Wars WW1 project and make use of the models I've already assembled.

  1. Good idea. I once saw a box of those Skytrex 1:700 in the bring and buy at Salute. I regret not getting them then, although I would probably prefer something a little smaller. Still remember that excellent Dinky conversion you did though...

    1. I did think of 1/1200 but I've already got the 1/700 stuff so a shame to waste it

  2. I've been kicking it around for quite a long time but, if I'm going to make some terrain for Lake Tanganyika and Steamer Wars, I might as well use it for this too?

  3. You might want to check out Shapeways, though kind of pricy. I recommend Bulldogs Away! for rules. They are a lot of fun and pretty easy to learn.
