I spent a few hours yesterday scribbling down the rules for Jet Knights of the Sky in my ever useful ideas notepad and I think I'm pretty much there, with only a few minor details and tweaks to wrap up the first draft. The main bits that needed to be worked out were the mechanisms for targeting and firing air to air missiles, either short range infrared heat seekers or medium range radar guided weapon, but I think I've come up with something that will work. I also had to rewrite all of the damage tables but that was relatively straightforward compared to the missiles. If I can get some time at the laptop, which is like gold dust at the moment due to lockdown, I will type it all up and send it out to some of the club players to see what they think. I also need to work out the aircraft record sheets for the MiG-21PF and make up some special dice, so that I can do some playtesting.
Cool stuff, Jim, and it all looks straightforward and makes sense to me. I’m looking forward to seeing some aerial jousting!

Thanks Jack
DeleteLooks good- now for the playtest I guess.
ReplyDeleteAre you trying it at home with smaller planes on smaller hexes first?
Cheers,
Pete.
Yes, I'll use my 1/600 planes for playtesting.
