Naval Project Book Bashing

I've been doing some background reading for the 1/3000th scale, Find, Fix and Strike naval project over the last couple of days, dipping into the usual Osprey titles on the Italian navy but also looking at the overall strategic situation at the start of the war. This book has been particularly useful, with a clear and concise analysis of the French and Italian plans in the interwar period and how those altered in 1939 to 1940. It's also really good as a source of information on the actual battles between the French, British and Italians, with Operation Vado being a good example. The other book that I've been skimming through is Mussolini's Navy and it's a gold mine of useful stuff. I've also started to work on a campaign map for the Tyrrhenian Sea and surrounding area but that's still very much a work in progress.
