I've finally decided on the other half of the pre-dreadnought project for the summer, having had second thoughts about the Italians. I'm going to stick with a tried and tested 'What If?' counterfactual theme and assemble a Royal Navy Mediterranean squadron c1898 or thereabouts, to deploy against my French fleet. I have some basing and texturing to do on the last of the French warships but I can then move onto the British ones, which I am thinking of painting first as they are less complicated than the French and easier to finish in batches, being identical by class unlike the very varied French designs. I'll get started at the weekend!
Good luck with the project. Those varied designs are what puts me off building a French squadron or two from this period, but one of these days I'll bite the bullet and try.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, they are an attraction but also a distraction!
