The Fashoda Incident

The Fashoda Incident in 1898 is a very convenient casus belli for a 'What If?' Anglo French naval conflict in the Mediterranean and Red Sea at the height of the pre-dreadnought era, so I'm going to use it for my project along with one or two other potential flashpoints. I've really enjoyed the counterfactual scenarios produced for the Admiralty Trilogy rules, Dawn of the Battleship, which are easily converted to other rules systems. These include one based around the Fashoda Incident, Race for Djibouti, but there are plenty more that could be developed on this theme. The supplement In Mahan's Wake is the source but I also rate highly the counterfactual scenario supplement written for the US White Fleet, Monroe's Legacy, which is even better in my opinion. All good stuff and great as inspiration for development of your own 'What If?' campaign ideas.
