This weekend I'm going to finish painting the Chilean cruisers and torpedo gunboats, to clear the deck for the second part of the pre-dreadnought project, a cruiser squadron of the USN. Today, the postie brought a small selection of additional ships for this force so I will now have USS Atlanta, USS Boston and USS Newark to add to the models I already have lined up, the first two being the A and B of the renowned ABCD cruisers. I can also now add USS Maine as heavy firepower and some additional gunboats, which Paul very kindly popped in for free. I'll get cracking as soon as the detailing and highlighting to wrapped up on the Chilean ships, the first thing being to assemble and base the US ones, ready for a black or possibly white undercoat.
