One of the heavy support options in the Pygmy Wars Freikorps in Latvia army list for Red Actions! is a fighter plane. Although this is unlikely to turn up, I thought I'd try and find a suitable 1/100th scale model, rather than take the easy option of using a 1/144th scale Wings of War scale model, my first port of call being Old Glory. I have a couple of their Nieuport 17 models already and they are excellent, but I was disappointed to find that their WW1 range is no longer in production for some reason. Instead, I have found a cheap diecast metal model of a Fokker DVII by Airfix / Bachmann on eBay, a range I had no idea existed, which I will strip down and repaint in a suitable scheme. It looks a bit basic but it will be bulletproof for wargaming purposes and will look great as a low level, ground attack aircraft, being ideal for just that sort of thing!
