NEWSFLASH - Mbote repels Zubuto assault (MBC)

Victory to Mbote!

In a hectic battle near the Wanayani river yesterday, troops of the Mbote Defence Force and People's Volunteer Army militia, successfully repelled an illegal and unprovoked attack by armoured units of the Zubuto military.

Our brave and highly trained forces destroyed large numbers of ZAP tanks, armoured cars and technical vehicles, while capturing hundreds of surrendering enemy soldiers, many of whom threw down their weapons when surrounded by MDF troops. A number of T55 tanks were also captured and will be incorporated into the MDF.

In a press statement, the local commander of the MDF, Major Mnuva, praised the contribution made by regular troops, who stood their ground in defence of a local village, using small arms, rocket launchers and heavy machine guns to knock out enemy armoured vehicles at close range.

President for Life of Mbote, General Papi Mpongo, also celebrated the decisive victory in a radio broadcast from his official residence in Mpongoville:

'People of Mbote, today the glorious MDF has once again given the gangster imperialist puppets of Zubuto a well deserved beating. Never again will Dudu and his rabble of a so-called army dare to invade our motherland. Victory to Mbote, down with Dudu!'

A celebratory victory parade and disco will be held in Mpongoville.
