Crusader

Nostalgia in a Box

Supposedly one of the best Rubicon kits

Very Early War 'British'

I've bought myself a Rubicon 1/56th scale A15 Crusader for next year's Chain of Command project, as it's yet another support option and the kit looks great, at least according to the online reviews I've looked at. I have a soft spot for the Crusader, having built both the old 1/72nd and 1/32nd scale Airfix kits in my misspent youth, which were both excellent and great fun to glue together. I particularly like the Mk I version with its 'dustbin' auxiliary hand-cranked machine gun mini-turret, pretty useless in action but very cool nonetheless. I will build this kit into an up-armoured Mk II, however, as there were more of them and they were far more common, with the machine gun turret usually removed for obvious reasons.

  1. My favourite WW2 tank. I have a whole company in 15mm. They brew up a lot but you can't beat the dash of yeomanry cavalry.

  2. They are pretty iconic as far as the desert war is concerned!
