The Mbote Defence Force got absolutely roasted by the Kenko Rebel Army of Putango this evening. A series of terrible dice rolls and a total balls up getting units on to the table, combined with high countdown rolls and some poor tactical decisions, meant that the MDF commander, Major Short Cummins, really lived up to his unfortunate name. In his defence, the professional mercenary unit that I painted for the game did hold on to the 30 point objective until the very last turn before being wiped out and, had they survived just one turn longer, this would have resulted in a draw. I also forgot my headgear, which in our house rules gives you a handy 10 point bonus, unlike Gary who sported a natty bush hat from the get go. It was fun as always though and I'm sure we'll be back for a rematch at some point in the not-too-distant future!
