I added the upper wing decals to the 1/600th scale WW1 German aircraft models this afternoon, which was a bit tricky due to the freezing cold temperature in the garage. The excellent decals are from Dan at Flight Deck Decals, which are usually trouble free, but due to the cold, they took ages to settle down despite lashings of softener and fixer. I've given them a gloss varnish top coat to seal them in, which is why they look very shiny, but I will add a matt varnish coat to dull them down again. I briefly entertained the idea of adding tiny fuselage and tail decals but decided life is too short! I may go back and add those later.
Hi Jim,
ReplyDeleteThey look excellent old chap! Seriously considering 1:600th for WW1 and 2 as a good space and cost option. Am I right in thinking that they have magnets on the underside?
Tumbling Dice I presume?
All the best,
DC
Thanks DC,
ReplyDeleteYes 1/600 Tumbling Dice with magnets. Excellent value and fun to paint. Paul has some starter packs that are a good way to kick off into a project.
Fabulous work Jim! These really pop with the decals. Well done.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, that means I have to do mine now hahaha
Those look fantastic! Well done despite the cold.
