Narrow Seas [4]

I started the coastal forces project today with the bulk of the small boats assembled and based, ready for painting. I was pleasantly surprised by the PT Dockyard MGB's which, contrary to expectation, were very simple to clean up and construct. I'll definately be ordering some more toys from across the pond, based on my initial attempts at resin in 1/600th scale. I also assembled the ASR launches, a Tumbling Dice Walrus ASR amphibian and some Tumbling Dice downed aircrew.

The other focus of my effort today was an SOE Fairmile 'A' ML, which was modified to fit the description of ML107 in the Action Stations! lists. I'm not sure how historically accurate it is, particularly as I couldn't be bothered to remove the funnel, but it's unlikely that anyone will spot the difference? Anywho, I'll tackle the rest of the big stuff tomorrow including the Denny SGB, the trawlers and the remaining Fairmile 'B' ML's.

  2. Good stuff! I went for 1/1200 myself, because I wanted a few merchies and a DD on the table too!

  3. I've been tempted by this before to go with my 1:600 aircraft. I assume the PT Dockyard models are the lighter ones? Must resist...
