1/96th Westland Wessex for Aden and Borneo

I've been looking for a decent wargaming model of a Westland Wessex in 1/100th or 15mm compatible scale for my Sandbox Skirmish post-colonial project for ages, a diecast Del Prado one turning out to be both too fragile and with broken parts. I was surprised to find this resin 1/96th resin model that is designed for use as a model ship feature but would work very well with 15mm figures. The downside is that it will require some assembly and I'm not sure the resin parts will stand up to handling on the table top. It's not cheap either but affordable if you only need one of them, which I do. I'm going to take a punt and get one anyway, as I can always model it as a crashed helicopter if it doesn't work out.

  2. That looks like a tough model to build. Really though one.

  3. I would be worried about having to cut out those resin pieces, which look like have a lot of air bubbles in them. Best of luck though.

  4. I'm definitely in two minds about this model... unfortunately there aren't many alternatives (yet)

    1. Give it time and there will be an STL available for it.
