Pre-Dreadnought Painting Progress

Esmeralda

The 1/2400th scale Chilean pre-dreadnought models are moving forward on the painting table, slowly but surely, with the bases blocked in and the decks painted with a basecoat of Vallejo Tan Yellow. I am quite pleased with the new base colour, which has an undercoat of Vallejo Prussian Blue and a topcoat of Foundry Union Blue Light, as it seems to match my sea cloth quite well. I'll finish the bases later with a light dry brush, together with some wakes and bow waves, but for the moment I'm onto blocking in the topsides next, using my day off from work to crack on!

  1. I must admit the pre-dreadnought era has always fascinated me, a beautiful model as well.
