I've been researching an historical scenario for the Lard Day Bag the Hun game and have found exactly what I'm looking for in No.129 (Mysore) Squadron's ORB for March 1942. As you can see, this was a Roadstead escort mission involving twelve Spitfire Vb's, with the opposition provided by Bf109-F4's of II/JG2, although that's a bit of educated guesswork based on historical probability and logical reasoning, which I'll explain later. I think this will be a brilliant basis for a swirling dogfight of a game, especially if I throw in some brand new Fw190-A2's which would be entirely feasible in the historical context, but leaving No.41 Squadron and the Bostons out of the frame for the sake of scenario simplicity.
