1/2400th US North Atlantic Squadron

I didn't get round to very much over the weekend, as things have been a bit hectic, but I did base up and glue together some Tumbling Dice 1/2400th scale US ironclad monitors and a single screw frigate. The monitors include USS Dictator, USS Puritan, USS Roanoke and USS Oregon. They're not exactly accurate models but I can live with that. The screw frigate represents the USS Richmond.

The latter is actually the French frigate Souveraine (ASV9) but it's close enough to the USS Richmond to be useable. I added spars with furled sails and shaved down the stern and bow to make it visually more of a match but otherwise it's straight out of the pack. I haven't got time to paint these now but will squeeze them in as and when I can find a spare hour or two.

  1. They're a bit funny looking but they'll be more than good enough for a game. I may add a couple more of the Monadnock models and use spare Dictator models that come in the pack as cut and shut material for Passaic or Canonicus class monitors.
