Uragan Class Monitor Conversion

 

I had a go at using a spare USS Kalamazoo model to make a Russian Uragan class monitor today. There were ten of these based on the Passaic class monitor design but with a modified turret and a hurricane deck, for service on coastal defence duty in the Baltic. I used the surplus USS Kalamazoo rather than the USS Dictator model, which I have converted into both the Passaic and Canonicus class monitors, so that it didn't go to waste. It's not far off visually and scales well against my cut and shut Passaic, although it really should have a different turret design. Not bad for half an hours work.
