NEWSFLASH - Mbote Border Patrol Rebel Airstrip Raid

From out diplomatic correspondent in Mpongoville

In a packed press conference today, recently reinstated President of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Mbote, General Papi Mpongo, announced the discovery of an illegal airstrip in the Njuba highlands by border patrol units of the Mbote Defence Force (MDF). The airstrip has now been put out of action using demolition charges to blow a hole in the runway and a camouflaged light aircraft found at the airstrip has also been destroyed, after it's cargo of AK47 assault rifles, RPG's and ammunition was removed for analysis.

In a supporting presentation to the assembled press, the Mbote Minister for Military Aviation, Colonel Ijek Taseet, revealed reconnaissance photographs of the clandestine airstrip taken in an overflight by MiG-17 fighter aircraft of the MDF. These photographs prove that the government of neighbouring Zubuto, has been flying in clandestine arms shipments to insurgent rebel forces in the Njuba Highlands, according to analysis by MDF military intelligence experts of the MIB (Military Intelligence Branch).

An official response to these accusations has yet to made by the government of Zubuto. However, the President of Mbote has ordered a heightened military presence by reinforced MDF border patrols, to sweep the area of the Njuba Highlands for further airstrip sites and rebel arms caches. A request by the government of Mbote for a full independent investigation of its claims has also been submitted to the Combined Regional African Peacekeeping mission in Wanga Wanga.

(in other words, there's an AK47 game on the way...albeit a bit 'ad hoc')

  2. The bastards! ;)

But if it's leading to an AK-47 game, I can't complain too much about their clandestine underhandedness ;)

    1. It was your brilliant AAR's that got me off my bum to set up a game...I'm even thinking of running it twice, once with AK47 and the second time with Five Core Company Command.

    2. I don't know about brilliant, but if I had anything to do with pushing you towards AK-47 and 5Core, then I'm right proud and happy, can't wait to see it. Both of them ;)
