As a bit of a break from painting aircraft, I thought I'd assemble some of the Seawulf 1/2400th scale Royal Navy warships for the Falklands Air War project. These are pretty ropey models, with some mis-cast hulls and lots of flash to clean up, but they came together okay in the end and are much more detailed than the 1/3000th scale alternative. There's a Type 21, a Type 42 and a Rothesay class frigate, so they are ideal as targets for the Argentinians to attack. I'll paint them up as soon as I have finished the latest batch of fighter bombers and strike aircraft.
Are they constant size? That Type 21 looks as big, if not bigger than, the Type 42 which surely is the wrong way round?
ReplyDeleteThey're supposed to be but you are right about the Type 21..it's far too big. Luckily I won't be using it next to any other ships.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Would it be ok if I added them to my archive of 1/2400 modern ship photos? I include who took them in the image names. The SeaWulf ships are at https://whenimaginationfails.org/images/Naval/SeaWulf/.
