While all the WW1 tiddly aircraft have been absorbing my time of late, I have also been setting out plans for a small 1/2400th scale pre-dreadnought project for later in the autumn. As a learning exercise. I'm planning to paint and base a small squadron of pre-dreadnought Chilean warships, three of which have recently been added to the Tumbling Dice Age of Battleships range. I already have two of these, the armoured cruiser O'Higgins and light cruiser Ministero Zeteno, and have just ordered the latest addition to the range, the battleship Capitan Prat. This gives me a small number of models to practice my painting on and I can also include a couple of Sharpshooter class torpedo boats from the British range as the two Chilean torpedo boats, Almirante Lynch and Almirante Condell. At a pinch, the Japanese light cruiser Idzuma can also be squeezed in as the Chilean cruiser Esmeralda, which was sold to Japan in 1894 and re-named accordingly, even though that's a bit of a long stretch.
