Strength and Honour Numidians

After the game last night, which I really enjoyed, I decided to dig out the Antonine Miniatures bits for my next army, the Numidians. The core force for this army consists of two bases of light cavalry, one of spearmen and one of skirmishers, so a pretty compact starting point.

To expand on this I have another light cavalry base, three Numidian cavalry bases, another two spearmen bases and a base of imitation legionaries, all common units. Most of these are made up from leftover bits from my Parthian and Imperial Roman armies.

To soup things up a bit, I also have a base of elephants and a base of massed slingers, these being rare units so unlikely to be turning up in a small army. I may well base the elephants on skirmish strips to support other units, but they may well be more of a liability than an asset!

  1. Hi there Jim,

Numidians are great fun to use - the last army I painted was a 15mm DBA army of them with all the options. It was a hoot using them against a late Republican Roman army!

    All the best,

    DC

PS I really should take a long look at Strength and Honour!
