Men of War

A little bit of light reading on the ferry over to Brittany yesterday. This is more of a primer or introductory overview than a detailed analysis, but still worth skipping through, if only because Patrick O'Brian really knows his stuff (obviously). I did learn a couple of things that I didn't previously know, however, so an enjoyable and useful read. I've brought my 1/2400th Napoleonic stuff with me on holiday, half to paint and half to assemble, with the prospect of some play test games as well, so it's all hands on deck!

  1. I'm pretty sure Patrick O'Brian WAS Stephen Maturin. Even a hardened landlubber like the Good Doctor was bound to have some nautical knowledge rub off on him eventually.
