Built and Based 1/2400th Royal Navy Ironclads 1880's

HMS Temeraire, HMS Inflexible, HMS Alexandra

HMS Colossus, HMS Edinburgh

HMS Polyphemus

HMS Ajax, HMS Agamemnon

HMS Hero, HMS Conqueror

I had some time to myself yesterday, so got cracking on the assembly and basing of some 1/2400th scale Tumbling Dice Royal Navy ironclads of the late 1870's to mid 1880's. These are really nice models but are supplied with full sail sets, so I have replaced them with the furled sails and spars from the accessories range. The ones without full masts have been given fighting tops using the bits provided but with spars added from cut down staples. I had to do a simplified version of the spars for these but it's just for effect really, so I'm not bothered as I think they look better than just having the basic masts. I've run out of relevant models in the Tumbling Dice range, apart from the Admiral Class ironclad battleships which are just a shade too late to be included, so can now move onto La Royale!

  1. All nicely shaping up. I'd forgotten what odd ducks Colossus and Edinburgh were with those offset turrets.

  2. I don't think they'd quite decided what they were supposed to be? Very strange layout indeed but I really like them!
