I noticed that Paul of Tumbling Dice has added a whole load of new codes to the 1/600 scale Vapour Trails catalogue, most of which are for interwar US and Japanese aircraft. He's also added discount starter packs for the US Army, US Navy, Japanese and the Chinese Civil War, which is a fascinating period in itself. Not only that but these new codes open up the possibility of other theatres such as the Dutch East Indies and possibly even the Chaco War. You could even try a counterfactual US versus Japanese war in the Pacific in the mid 1930's, using the 1/600th scale planes with 1/3000th scale ships. Now there's an idea!
Great news! I have been working on a small campaign based on Bywater's Great Pacific War that takes place in the 1930s.
ReplyDeleteI think that must be at least one motive for adding these 1930's aircraft, as well as the Chinese angle. There's also some scope for South America and the fall of the Dutch East Indies.
ReplyDeleteThose interwar aircraft do have a charm about them.
ReplyDeleteI do like the paint schemes as well.
DeleteVery cool, could also work for those in the AVBCW or ACW2 1930s set.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought of that..although I did think of King Kong!
DeleteA chinese warlords campaign, now that's something to think about!
ReplyDeleteWhy not?
DeleteYou've run out of room on the table, have no 'niches' to fill, the list is already 101 projects long?
