A clue about one of my project ideas for later in the year. I know absolutely zero about the Mexican Revolution, apart from a few notable film references, so I'm starting from scratch on this one. I do have a clear focus on rules and figures though, with more to follow once I've got my head around the various Villistas, Zapatistas, Constitutionalists, Conventionalists, Federalists and all the other sombrero clad whatsumathingamalists involved.
Frank McLynn's 'Villa and Zapata' gives a useful rundown of the conflict, concentrating on the two named protagonists, of course. There are other bits and pieces around, but far too much material concentrates on the brief US involvment.

I do indeed have way too many unfinished projects!
ReplyDeleteThis one, however, is designed to make use of my desert terrain rather than having to buy or build a whole load of new stuff. That's the dubious logic behind it anyway.
I have some more 'deserty' plans up my sleeve....but mostly from the existing stash of stuff, so should keep the cost down and help to reduce the lead pile at the same time?
I've been thinking the same thing. I'm looking at releasing a Fistful of Lead supplement for the period with some scenarios.

ReplyDeleteI was looking at it as a setting for some 5-Core Company Commander games. Still not sure what to use for the largercactions (and there were a few).
