I'm away in Wales this week but, when I get back in a couple of days, I'm going to have to make a start on an Airfix Be2c kit for a Knights of the Sky game at the end of November. I offered to build this one as a back up in case it was needed, so I'm going to give myself plenty of time to finish it. The kit I have is for a home defence aircraft so I'll need to re-purpose it for service on the Western Front, which will simply involve reversing the observer's machine gun and applying some different decals, nothing too complicated. I also need to find a couple of new crew figures as I've used the ones in the kit for other things. It will be good to build a model as a change from painting small scale stuff!
Welcome to my blog. I have upwards of 100 projects in various stages of incompletion or total abandonment, so you may well find something of interest if you rummage about a bit. I concentrate on solo air and naval wargaming but other 'skirmishy' things quite often pop up out of nowhere, only to disappear again after something else grabs my attention. I even finish the occasional project now and again!

Hotspur
A good bargain yesterday, £9.99 from Pembroke Castle gift shop for a new hardback copy of this book on Sir Henry Percy, including a lot of wargaming relevant information and a focus of military, rather than political history.

The Battle of Edgcote - A Wargamers Guide
I found out about this publication from the Northamptonshire Battlefields Society today, co-written by Graham Evans, author of numerous innovative wargame rules, and Richard Lindley, an old wargaming chum from the local club. It does look very good indeed, especially as both authors really know their stuff when it comes to the War of the Roses and wargame design. It's only a tenner including postage too, so worth a closer look if you are interested in the period:

Sabre Stripes
A bit more progress on the Sabres and Mustangs yesterday, with everything blocked in apart from the canopies. I have added the invasion stripes to one of the Sabres using a 0.1 black fine line pen, just to see what it looks like, as well as painting the canopy at the same time. The rest will have to wait until next weekend as we are off to sunny West Wales for a short break.
