These new rules for the Sudan look like an interesting alternative to PITS, although I think they're designed for 28mm gaming rather than 15mm, not that that makes much of a difference if you use multiple basing. I'm waiting to hear some reviews on TMP before I take the plunge and buy a set.
I haven't given up on PITS as the couple of games I've played have been great fun. However, if you want to run historical scenarios or anything other than large skirmish style games, you need to look elsewhere.
I'm going to have a crack at this with Death in the Dark Continent first, assuming I can get some opponents and/or paint up the British and Egyptian figures I have in the lead pile. If AGD turns out to be well received I may well give it a try as well.
