I have a spare 15mm Peter Pig T-26 that I can gift to the Nationalists but I wanted to get hold of some more light armour to deploy in games. I've been looking for an affordable Panzer 1a but they have been difficult to locate for less than £6.50 (metal), £5.00 (resin) or too expensive due to the cost of postage and tax from the EU (Minairons). As a second best, I have found a QRF Panzer 1b for only £2.50 a pop, which is far less expensive and also suitable for the Spanish Civil War, although they were less common than the shorter hull Panzer 1a. I'm pretty sure that no one will notice the difference anyway?
Welcome to my blog. I have upwards of 100 projects in various stages of incompletion or total abandonment, so you may well find something of interest if you rummage about a bit. I concentrate on solo air and naval wargaming but other 'skirmishy' things quite often pop up out of nowhere, only to disappear again after something else grabs my attention. I even finish the occasional project now and again!

I wouldn't be able to tell. I think my Pz1s were Skytrex as I have the command vehicle as well, but I don't recall them being that expensive.
ReplyDeleteYep, £6.50 each from Skytrex or £19 for three from Old Glory UK. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteI've just checked back. I bought mine from Skytrex in October 2010 at Derby World Championships. My recollection is that they were the best value at the time.
DeleteThe good old days when lead cost less than gold!
DeleteThank you for naming the company within the EU. My problem has been the opposite, knowing about too many stores in the UK, but few on this side the water. Using search engines often shows UK or US, and very rarely the other languages that I would be happy with ordering from. I don't mind the taxes, but 7,5€ in the "how dare you purchase from abroad"-fee makes small orders horrible, and trying to sort out larger orders are a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteSince your blogposts give me a lot, I would gladly offer to help you out with first shipping here, and then as a "relative" (brothers in hobby? :P) to go around the fees. But I sadly don't think it will be economically either since our Swedish shipping rates to the UK are horrible, and probably end up just as much in any case.
No worries Jens.. Thanks for the thought :)
DeleteI think QRF have suspended the online shop until they relocate in April - you may be lucky if you have already ordered....
ReplyDeleteMy Panzer Is are some ropey SDD models.....
Neil
You can still order but they aren't delivering until the end of next month... No rush.
