I was away in Bristol today and will be off to Plymouth tomorrow, so the weekend painting of the Napoleonic ships has had to be scrubbed. However, I did pop into a model shop on the way back to the station, where I bought a few more Vallejo paints for the project.
As you can see, it takes quite a few to paint even one 1/2400th scale line of battle ship, in this case a Third Rate 74, but with a production line it's surprisingly quick, once you get past the blocking in.
I also have a few variations I can throw into the mix, in particular for the strakes and the stern galleries, so what looks like a lot of paint pots is actually quite a few over the minimum.
I just hope I can find the time to get on with it!
