I picked up the courage to have a go at upgrading my old Navwar 1/3000th scale model of the French aircraft carrier Bearn with a proper flight deck from Fight Deck Decals. This was a bit nerve wracking at first and I had a moment of panic trying to lift the decal onto the model, but it all ended up looking splendid and was surprisingly easy to do, which is a testament to Dan's excellent products. I now want to get some more aircraft carriers to add decals to, so will shortly be putting an order into Navwar for some Royal Navy and Japanese flat tops for the early war. A top quality product that makes my average paint job look so much better!
You are a braver man than I. i typically avoid decals like the plague. I feel i have a far better shot of getting a reasonable result with eye-balling my own lines than trying to use decals or stickers
ReplyDeleteThat really look good.
ReplyDeleteGreat work.
Cheers,
Pete.
That looks great. I'm planning on trying out some of his 1/6000 decals for the tiny ships.
ReplyDeleteThanks chaps,
ReplyDeleteThey are really easy to use once you get the hang of it and not expensive either.
That looks great. Dan's a good guy to deal with, too. I've only managed a few modern heli decks so far, but I have some carriers lined up (the Falklands, mainly) and will take some encouragement from your comments!

I've used some of his modern deck decals on my Chilean, RN and Chinese ships..dead easy to use and they look great.
ReplyDeleteThat makes a big difference; a huge improvement to a fine looking carrier.
